Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using HearU you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide when creating an account (name, email address, profile photo via Google or Apple Sign-In), audio recordings you initiate within the App, the transcriptions and tasks generated from those recordings, usage logs such as feature interactions and crash reports, and Stripe payment events. We never store your full card number on our servers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide and improve transcription and AI features, manage your subscription and process payments, send in-app notifications and reminders you have set, diagnose bugs and monitor performance, and communicate about product updates or changes to these policies.

3. Audio Processing

Audio recordings are transmitted to our servers over an encrypted connection. Transcription is performed using AI — currently via OpenAI's API, accessed server-side only. Raw audio is deleted immediately after transcription is complete. Your audio is never used to train AI models without your explicit, informed consent.

4. Third-Party Services

HearU relies on the following third-party providers to operate:

Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage.
Stripe — subscription billing and payment processing.
OpenAI — AI transcription and task extraction, accessed server-side only; your data is not used for model training under our current agreement.
Firebase — push notification delivery.

Each provider has its own privacy policy that governs their handling of your data.

5. Data Retention

Account data is retained while your account remains active. Raw audio files are deleted immediately after transcription. Notes, tasks, and reminders are kept until you delete them. Billing records are retained as required by applicable law.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct inaccurate data, request deletion of your account and associated data, restrict or object to certain processing, and request a machine-readable copy of your data. 7. Security

We protect your data using TLS encryption in transit and encryption at rest for stored files and data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; if you have concerns about a specific vulnerability please contact us immediately.

8. Children

HearU is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with their data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or by email. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.
